We answer many of the common questions regarding our dental procedures and oral care.

Can you remove all of my old silver fillings?

It depends on why you want them removed. If they are leaking or cracked then replacement would be important. If you do not like how they look we will discuss the risks and benefits of removal. All new restorations placed are tooth colored. The benefit of having them replaced at our dental practice is that we follow the protocol for removing amalgams as prescribed by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Following their protocol ensures the least possible exposure to mercury aerosols for the patient.

What is a root canal and how are your root canals holistic?

Root Canal Therapy is performed when bacteria or trauma cause the nerve of a tooth to die. The canal system is cleaned/debrided and a Bioinert Root Canal filling is placed into the canals, as well as Ozone water and Ozone gas to disinfect the tooth.

Do you do Ozone therapy and in what capacity?

Yes. Ozone Therapy is a mainstay of our dental practice. Ozone is three molecules of oxygen, which is antibacterial, antiviral, anti-parasitic and antifungal. It is used in our dental water lines. In addition Ozone is used in Periodontal Therapy, Root Canal Therapy and to treat dental cavities.

I have a missing tooth. What options do I have to replace it?

There are three main options. The first option is a removable appliance. The second option is a fixed appliance, also known as a Bridge. The third option is an Implant with an attached Crown.

I have sensitive teeth. Can I still whiten them?

Yes you can. We have desensitizing agents which are applied to the teeth prior to the whitening, which reduces the sensitivity. If you are looking to improve your smile there are other aesthetic options available as well. Porcelain Veneers are a great option to consider if you are looking to drastically improve your smile, as well as full cosmetic bonding.

Do you treat cavitations and how?

Yes. Cavitations are holes in the bone, which sometimes occur after a tooth is removed and the bone has not filled in properly. Treatment includes Sanum Remedies, lower level laser light therapy, ozone therapy and surgical treatment.
